Kitchen Rules

Have you ever wondered why your kitchen is always a mess and why this doesn’t bother anyone else?

Are there clear (explicit) agreements in place? Or are we assuming that others know how a kitchen should be left after making the toast?

Kitchen Rules

This template is one that we have successfully used in collaborative kitchens. You are welcome to download and use it as a template for your “kitchen rules” discussion.

We suggest some formality is helpful (written down) to be clear and explicit. We also suggest that some light humour can be useful to raise key items that have been causing difficulty. “Is the dirty plate and cutlery too heavy to return to and wash?”

Membership Rules

We have found that a household can be formed and can improve its collaboration with a membership. Historically this might have been a family with common family understandings. OR this could be a sharehouse reducing their cost of accommodation. OR this could be a group of people that all have some guidelines to enable them to work together.

We do an introductory video call to understand what you have in place and what methods you would like to use to form / make and resolve agreements.

Some of the tools that you may consider are: –

This is the opportunity to introduce a group of people to the concept. Utilizing our shop toolbox of resources we can outline a path for nearly any audience  This can be:-
