Rifle Range Road

For a client who has struggles with their health, a healthy house is a key factor. We have some extensive experience in this space, and this Rifle Range solution will meet our clients’ needs.

Some key selections for this solution

Primarily, the existing health triggers seem to be mould. In the wet tropics, this is challenging to avoid altogether. Some selections will perform better than others to provide a healthy home.

Progress for this new build

As this project continues we will share more content on what this solution looks like here.

Healthy Indoor Air in the tropics

This is a detailed and fascinating topic for those of us who struggle with poor health. Specifically if you understand that you health is impacted by your indoor air quality. As part of the rifle range solution we are studying the impacts of indoor air on human health. It seems that these considerations are most often overlooked: –

  • CO2 levels while you sleep or close up the space
  • The presence of mould, a bit tricky to avoid in the wet tropics
  • Mitigation of these challenges in an effecive manner
  • Airconditioning what options can deliver a healthy response

CO2 Levels

If you talk to old school nursing staff they will recount that plants (flowers etc) were commonly removed from a ward overnight. Why? These plant are competing with the patients for Oxygen. Potentially these “living” plants and can unbalance the CO2 levels in a ward. The challenge is often worst with windows and doors closed while the patients are sleeping. Generally good ventilation with fresh unpolluted ait is all that we need.

Mould

Much like the presence of CO2 it cannot be avoided entirely as Mould is naturally occurring in our environment. It forms part of a healthy balance required for living ecosystems. The challenge can occur when there are imbalances or sensitivities which can start to occur with a prolonged exposure to higher levels of mould.

Management of your Indoor Air

For most of us we are quite used to the “conditioning” of our indoor air spaces in the modern era of mechanically / artificially controlled environments. We have even forgotten the pleasure in fresh air (in a field of dandelions and pasture) that being outdoors in fresh air.
