A sense of place for home

Reimagining Place. At PeoplePurposePlace, ‘Place’ comes last, but it’s not about importance. It is about designing homes for people, not just for finance and wealth. With this mindset shift, we can ensure homes are spacious and foster collaboration.
Our approach prioritises the group and the individual equally. This means reimagining established homes to suit intentional living, designing new solutions, considering pavilion designs for autonomy, and exploring small acreage options. Central to our philosophy is moving away from the ‘master bedroom’ concept towards a ‘wholearchy’.
Leveraging the buying power of groups of around five people makes best practices achievable and sustainable. This ensures well-designed homes that run at low cost in the future. Workshops with various groups highlight the importance of connecting to nature and creating spaces for collaboration and community.
One critical insight from our journey in collaborative housing journey is that respecting individualism while providing communal spaces results in something truly special. Our goal was to design future homes and projects. We discovered that offering spaces for genuine human connection creates a unique sense of home.
Financial Model
Once the Place has been determined and designed, the next goal is to give people a sense of control and certainty. There are many options available:
- Long term renting
- Leasing
- Rent to buy
- Individual tenure
At PeoplePurposePlace, we’re solving the housing crisis one intentional household at a time. Discover some of our plans and examples in our Place discussion here.
