The southeast location is still facing expansion challenges through normal greenfield development outside the central Brisbane area.

The sprawl has created challenges with connection to services and locations, which are being remedied by public transport, but it also creates challenges regarding what property might look like over time within these locations.

The region of North Coast faces unique challenges due to migration and movement of people north for space and location as central Brisbane expands. This has created a dichotomy between existing North Coast community members and newcomers.

This area has seen vast increases in property value, creating challenges for those locked out of the housing bubble and for those considering the value of their property as they continue to age in place.

Dr. Malcolm Holz, one of the core team members who has helped the evolution of People Purpose Place, is actively working on projects in this location.

Ipswich Community Engagement Efforts

South West Queensland is a vast region with varying challenges depending on location and proximity to the capital city.

With one of our co-founders in the Ipswich area, we’re working on solutions with different community groups and communities in the area.

Central Queensland’s Unique Economic Challenges

Central Queensland faces unique challenges that vary dramatically in its location throughout the region.

Conversations have started in Mackay and the Whitsundays, which live in a world of two-speed economies.

Affordability is a very different conversation here due to the massive impacts of balancing mining, tourism, and agriculture, leading to different needs for vastly different groups.

North Queensland Initiative Insights

North Queensland, particularly the Townsville region, is a cornerstone of the People, Purpose, Place initiative.

Several founding members are based here, providing a unique understanding of the region’s challenges, including Townsville’s specific needs.

Solid conversations have started with Ingham, a regional location facing unique geographical challenges.

The area is also impacted by an aging population.

Community Solutions in Far North Queensland

Far North Queenslanders have always proactively understood their distance from a capital city, which has necessitated local solutions. This fosters a people-helping-people attitude, ideal for working with People Purpose Place.
In Far North Queensland, we are lucky to have a proactive group on the Atherton Tablelands seeking solutions. This group has the active support of our fantastic local angel investor.
Cairns is the largest city in the local area, and community elders and essential workers are discussing the situation.
